Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of applications that are vital to business functions. You will engage with users to understand their challenges and work diligently to implement effective solutions, all while maintaining a focus on service excellence and operational efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME.
-Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter)
-Monitor performance and health of virtual infrastructure, and perform proactive capacity
planning
-Configure and manage clustering, HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion
-Administer and maintain datastores, LUNs, networking, and VM templates
-Conduct patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of VMware components
-Support disaster recovery strategies and manage VM backups and restores
-Troubleshoot issues related to VM performance, host failures, and storage latency
-Implement automation scripts using PowerCLI, Python, or Ansible
-Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure end-to-end system relia
-Participate in cloud migration efforts or manage hybrid infrastructure with VMware Cloud
services
-Maintain documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, SOPs, and configuration log
-Ensure adherence to ITIL processes, change management, and security standards
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in VMware Virtualization Administration.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure management.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve virtualization issues.
-Virtualization-VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA
-Experience administering VMware vSphere (6.x/7.x/8.x)
-Expertise in managing ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, VM templates, clustering, and DRS/HA
-Experience in VM provisioning, resource management, snapshot management, and VM
migration (vMotion, Storage vMotion)
-Strong understanding of datastore and storage configuration (iSCSI, NFS, Fibre Channel)
-Familiarity with VMware Update Manager (VUM) and patch lifecycle management
-Experience in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and log analysis
-Exposure to backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Dell Avamar)
-Understanding of security hardening and compliance within VMware environments
-Need to work in 24/7 shifts
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in VMware Virtualization Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
