Job Description Summary

The FP&A Analyst for Fossil Americas will serve as the dedicated financial planning and analysis resource supporting the Fossil Americas region within Steam Power Services. Reporting into the HQ FP&A team, this role is the connective tissue between two distinct business lines — Fossil Americas (rotating equipment: Steam Turbine & Generator) and Clean Combustion (boiler) — as well as four geographic sub-regions (US East, US West, LATAM, and Canada), and the Fossil Americas CFO and General Manager. The role ensures that financial information flows upward accurately, efficiently, and with full drill-through visibility. The role owns the consolidated financial planning file and leads all core FP&A cycles for the region. During off-peak periods, this analyst will contribute to transformation and data & analytics initiatives led by the HQ FP&A team, playing an active role in modernizing how the Fossil business consumes and acts on financial data.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Regional FP&A & Consolidation

  • Own and maintain the consolidated financial planning and analytical database for Fossil Americas, integrating inputs across Fossil Americas (rotating equipment) and Clean Combustion (boiler) business lines, and across US East, US West, LATAM, and Canada sub-regions
  • Lead all core FP&A cycles for the Fossil Americas region including Forecast, Budget, Pacing, and Long Range Forecast
  • Ensure financial information flows from business lines and sub-regions to region to HQ in a structured, transparent, and timely manner — balancing summarized regional views with drill-through visibility to business line and sub-region detail
  • Coordinate across business line and sub-region finance and operating teams to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of financial submissions
  • Prepare and consolidate regional reporting packages and presentation materials for the Fossil Americas CFO and General Manager
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on regional performance vs. plan, forecast, and prior year — with the ability to decompose results across both business line and geographic dimensions
  • Support the Fossil Americas CFO during peak planning and close periods (~8 weeks per quarter), serving as a reliable and proactive analytical resource
  • Partner with Operation Finance and ITR Finance teams to ensure regional consolidations accurately reflect project-level and commercial financial activity without duplicating their scope
  • Identify and escalate financial risks and opportunities across the Fossil Americas region in a timely and structured manner

Transformation & Data Analytics

  • Support the HQ FP&A Income Statement manager on transformation projects and data & analytics capability building during off-peak periods (~4 weeks per quarter)
  • Contribute to the development of scalable, automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve data accessibility across the Fossil finance team
  • Help build and incorporate AI-assisted tools and workflows into FP&A processes as the organization develops these capabilities
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and transparency of regional financial reporting processes
  • Serve as a technology-forward resource within the team, championing the use of modern tools to democratize financial data

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • 4–6 years of finance experience, or completion of a GE Vernova finance leadership development program

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an FP&A, financial reporting, or business finance role
  • Exposure to multi-region or international business environments
  • Strong consolidation and financial modeling skills — able to manage complexity across multiple business lines and geographies while maintaining a clean, reliable output
  • Excellent Excel skills, including advanced modeling and large dataset management
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a strong plus
  • Technology literate with a genuine interest in how digital tools can improve financial processes; experience building or incorporating AI agents or automated workflows is a plus and will be developed further in the role
  • Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to synthesize and communicate at a segment summary level
  • Effective communicator and coordinator — able to work across cultures, and functional teams in a matrixed organization
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with recurring deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Experience with SAP (PowerMax, OneSteam, or similar ERP platform) is a plus
