Position Summary

Under general supervision, the person in this position is responsible for design, implementation, and engineering support for technology solutions such as Windows server, privileged access management, active directory, web services, and other identity and access management solutions.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform research, analyze technology, consult vendors and apply best practices to design technical solutions by Utilizing systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications. Typically related to new implementations or enhancements of enterprise scale and moderate complexity.
  • Validate, test and implement new products and services.
  • Provide technical and advisory leadership as required to complete objectives.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents escalated from lower-level engineers and performance tuning requests utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to services, solutions and interfaces.
  • Provide training and mentoring for other personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Management of Microsoft MIM, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure, and Microsoft Entra Connect products.
  • Provide operational support for Identity & Access Management projects and ticket queues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree plus five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Experience as a technical team leader.
  • (Experience with systems analysis techniques and procedures and developing functional specifications).
  • Experience managing IIS and Apache web services.
  • Experience with single sign-on technologies such as SAML and OIDC.
  • Experience managing a CyberArk privileged access management environment.
  • Ability to manage Microsoft Entra ID security and integrations.
  • Experience managing multi-factor authentication products.
  • Proficient use of PowerShell.
  • Experience deploying and supporting PKI certificate products.
  • High aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
  • Effective oral and written presentation skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changes in priorities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as necessary and recognize the need to do so.
  • Ability to adjust scheduled time.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving.

Associates degree plus five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
