JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description – Software Engineering Manager, Content Systems

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our Content Management Systems (CMS) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in headless CMS systems, particularly Contentful and Strapi, and will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our CMS solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of modern CMS architectures. 

Responsibilities  

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers focused on the development of our headless CMS system, and the delivery of content to a growing number of public facing web and mobile applications 
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of headless CMS solutions using tools such as Strapi and Contentful 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and marketing, to ensure CMS solutions meet business requirements. 
  • Drive best practices in software development, including code reviews and testing 
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. 
  • Provide consistent and clear feedback to your direct reports. Team members understand when they are below, meeting, or exceeding expectations. 
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure the successful content delivery 
  • Manage the localization of content for applications deployed in over 50+ countries 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our CMS solutions at the forefront of innovation. 

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant field or equivalent experience  
  • Minimum 7 years of professional hands-on software development experience in either mobile and/or web-based platforms 
  • 2+ years of experience in managing engineers and leading a team 
  • Demonstrated experience working with headless CMS systems and complex content architectures 
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript and React 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience working with AWS and S3 
  • Comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team  
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills  
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment 

     

The base pay for this position is

$97,300.00 – $194,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
