Job Title: Patient Care Assistant

Salary: £24,045 per year

Location: Leadon Vale Veterinary Centre, Ledbury

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week, some weekend cover

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an additional Patient Care Assistant (PCA) support to our patients, clients and clinical team.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, forward thinking and keen to develop their skills and knowledge within client and patient care. A candidate with prior experience of the veterinary profession would be preferred however someone with animal experience and enthusiasm to learn would be welcome.

Our PCA's are well utilised and encouraged to fulfil multiple disciplines within their knowledge & experience; we will support and provide all necessary training and development within the role. We are a supportive team who thrive on development of individuals both at the start of their career as well as throughout.

This role will involve working in a variety of areas within the practice to support the team. By working enthusiastically within the team, you will help maintain an efficient and effective working environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient handling and restraint
  • Maintaining patient welfare
  • Reception duties e.g. answering the phone, booking appointments, Client support and advice, filing, stock management
  • Maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness of all areas of the practice
  • Supporting the Vet while carrying out consultations and visit in our Mobile Consulting Van

For over 60 years our veterinary practice has been serving the local community of Ledbury, Hertfordshire, by providing excellent quality care for all animal types including exotics. Amongst our many care services we also have a 24-hour emergency service that is available 365 days a year by our own certified veterinary surgeons.
