SUMMARY
The Senior Scientist/Engineer/Systems Analyst supports the FAA IIF by building and maintaining the services supported by multiple discovery integrations as a consolidated inventory source for hardware and software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides Architecture and client facing support across technologies and vendors such as Cisco, NetApp, VMware, Windows/Unix/Linux environments, VMware’s vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V on a set of enterprise-level IT systems.
Supports the development of infrastructure designs that are innovative, resilient, and highly available.
Provides SME support on tiered storage systems, both on-premises, cloud and unified computing.
Develops and presents white papers to bring next generation innovation to the client.
Provides SME automation of IT Infrastructure.
Supports operational SLA’s 99.99%.
Responsible for operational availability of all the systems hosted on the infrastructure.
Provides SME support of cloud hybrid COOP & DR plans.
Assists and mentors’ junior members on the team.
Proactively reviews inventory status of IT hardware and performs reconciliation analysis of IT asset records within our ServiceNow environment.
Identifies opportunities on how to better manage and reconcile inventory and related reporting.
Learns from and educates fellow team members.
Other duties as assigned.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, or science and eight (8) years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience with systems engineering and/or test of FAA systems is preferred.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGRISTRATION
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
En Route and Oceanic NAS /ERAM/ATOP Data Reduction and Analysis capabilities.
Experience in knowledge of NAS Simulation generation techniques and systems including the ERAM Graphical.
Experience in knowledge of ATOP Data Reduction Tool (EZSWAC) and Simulation Driver Interfacility (EITT).
Experience in working knowledge of ATOP Data Reduction Tool (EZSWAC) and Simulation Driver Interfacility (EITT). Scenario Generation Tool (GSGT) and Simulation Driver Interfacility and Radar DSR.
Experience in knowledge of Simulator (SIRDS/SDRR), ATOP Simulation Scenario Generator.
Knowledge of Adaptation products for FAA systems including ERAM, ATOP, EDDS, and ECG.
Knowledge of Long Range and Short-range RADAR technology.
Knowledge of Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B).
Detailed knowledge of the Advanced Technology and Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) system. General knowledge of ATOP system recording data (SWAC) processing.
General knowledge of ATOP system scenario development.
Experience as a Systems Engineer analyzing SW and HW problems.
Experience reviewing and writing Technical Documents.
Working knowledge of Linux.
Experience with FAA System Support Modifications (SSM's), System Support Documents (SSD's) a plus.
General knowledge of scripting is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
