The Medical Director, Clinical Theranostics will contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic goals through the leadership, management and execution of the Field Medical Team objectives to support the Company’s portfolio. This role serves as an expert lead for the technical clinical theranostics team, contributes to the development of product brand strategies; and ensures field execution of the medical and scientific strategies and tactics aligned across the organization.

Bringing to the table expertise in radiomics, imaging informatics, dosimetry, standardization and calibration with various PET camera calibration, imaging parameters and optimization, image reconstruction with various isotopes for prostate, renal, and brain imaging. This role will also bring expertise in interpretation and reading skills of radiology images with the goal of ensuring that all Field Medical Affairs activities are conducted within required timelines and budget, to the highest standards of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), International Council for Harmonization (ICH) guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and according to regulatory guidelines, laws and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Accountability:

  • Build, lead, develop, manage, and operationalize the impact of the CTS team. Recruit, retain and develop outstanding CTSs. Establish, communicate, and systematically review performance expectations and personal development plans.
  • Lead, identify, and execute imaging strategies for launch needs. May support imaging strategies for lifecycle management and clinical trials.
  • Computational image analysis, evaluation, and interpretation.
  • Design and analyze imaging data for publication needs.
  • Establish and execute strategic plan with KPIs and timely tactics, aligned with cross-functional teams and movement of the field.
  • Establish a culture aligned to Telix, being science-based, seeking internal and external collaborations, ensuring a positive team culture of trust and a proactive and responsive attitude to ensure high-performance.
  • Build initiatives, identify gaps for tactical execution plan in supporting scientific and medical communications and building collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with external stakeholders supporting investigational and approved products.
  • Understand regional and national trends, competitor space to inform and align with Medical Affairs and Telix objectives.
  • Quantify and report CTS team impact on Telix goals and medical objectives, assessing team effectiveness and cross-functional communication and collaboration.
  • Display fiscal accountability and efficient use of resources. Ensure high visibility and ongoing communication of team activities, achievements in addition to scientific and medical insights.
  • Systematically ensure CTS team identify and develop productive collaborations with Key Imaging Leaders, other important stakeholders and organizations.
  • Establish expectations and tactics to support Telix clinical development and clinical operations, maintaining respective responsibilities and ensuring excellent communication to aid execution of Telix clinical studies.
  • Ensure the team is skilled in delivering high quality scientific/medical education in a variety of settings, and in gathering valuable feedback to be disseminated throughout the organization. Ensure comprehensive training to develop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant diseases, products, development plans, so that CTS’s are acknowledged internally and externally as experts.
  • Maintain a high level of team knowledge of and appropriately implement current local pharmaceutical regulation and ensure implementation of Telix policies and procedures. Ensure all CTS activities, including external interactions, are conducted in accordance with Telix objectives, compliance policies and procedures as well as with legal and ethical standards

Education and Experience:

  • MD or PhD in relevant area expertise in nuclear medicine required
  • 8+ years Medical Affairs experience in Pharmaceutical or equivalent required
  • 2+ years management experience or equivalent required
  • Experience in radiopharmaceuticals preferred or oncology is an advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of all applicable regulatory requirements for field‐based scientific personnel.
  • Experience/expertise in interpretation of scientific data, market research, and competitive intelligence tools.
  • Track record of success in building, developing and managing high-performing field-based teams.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and when giving presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop medical affairs strategies and tactical plans.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulations and practices related to industry interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent organization skills, planning abilities and budget management.
  • Ability to quickly understand:
    • complex disease areas, treatments and clinical development plans
    • healthcare landscape, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and patient journey
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive collaborations with medical experts.

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability for 60% travel.
