Job Details:

GENERAL STATEMENT: Only students currently enrolled in the Moody College of Communication are eligible to apply.

Purpose:

The Student Marketing Associate position offers a valuable opportunity for students pursuing marketing, communications or related fields to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Supporting the marketing efforts of University Housing and Dining at The University of Texas at Austin, students in this role will work alongside full-time staff and fellow student associates to contribute to integrated marketing campaigns, content development and on-campus initiatives.This role is designed to help students grow as emerging marketing professionals by applying classroom knowledge to real projects that enhance the campus experience. The position also emphasizes creativity, teamwork and a strong understanding of how marketing strategies come to life across channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Execution Support: Assist in the planning and execution of UHD marketing campaigns and initiatives. Support campaign setup, coordination and on-site activation to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for students and campus partners.

  • Content and Messaging Support: Contribute to the development of marketing content across platforms, including digital, print and experiential. Assist with writing, editing and organizing content that aligns with campaign goals and brand standards.

  • Project Coordination: Help track project timelines, deliverables and priorities across multiple initiatives. Support the team in maintaining organized workflows and ensuring projects move forward efficiently.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow student associates and full-time marketing staff on cross-functional projects. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas that support UHD marketing goals.

  • Marketing Operations Support: Assist with day-to-day marketing operations including scheduling, material preparation and general coordination that supports campaign execution and team efficiency.

  • Event and Activation Support: Provide hands-on support for events, tabling and promotional activations. Help with setup, breakdown and engagement to bring marketing campaigns to life on campus. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in courses at the Moody College of Communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior status and/or must have completed at least one full academic year at an institute of higher learning (first year students are not eligible, regardless of earned credits or classification)

  • Working knowledge of photography and videography equipment and lighting packages

  • Working knowledge of editing software

  • Previous experience in advertising, marketing or another related field preferred

Compensation:

  • $13.75 per hour

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based in Austin, TX and is expected to work on campus

  • Position may work up to 25 hours per week

  • May work outside in all weather conditions

  • May work nights and weekends
