PRIMARY PURPOSE:  

The primary role for this position includes include working closely with our business partners\customers and IS management to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources and timeframes.  This may also include coordinating budget\financial activities for projects.  The project coordinator will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries.

Ultimately, the Project Coordinator’s duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information

  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes

  • Liaise with our business customers, IS management and vendors to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives

  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management

  • Make sure that the business customer’s needs are met as projects evolve

  • Analyze risks and opportunities

  • Facilitate project procurement management

  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise

  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants

  • Works with the business customer, vendor and IT constituents to eliminate blockers

  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports

  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Familiarity of basic IS Infrastructure & Networking is needed

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools is beneficial for management of work and understanding processes.

  • Should possess good analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills

  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role

  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery

  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans

  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management

  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills

  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar software

  • BS in Business Administration or related field
