JOB SUMMARY:

The Market Development Specialist is responsible to lead & execute Polaris dealer network compliance auditing and reporting.  Support Market Development team in executing a managed attrition plan and process to develop the optimal dealer network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and execute the dealer exit process & termination closeout process
  • Execute approved legal strategies; aggressively manage downside risks to PoIaris to obtain objectives within budget constraints while delivering maximum ROI
  • Define & optimize a managed attrition gate process; define performance metrics & weekly reporting.
  • Define & optimize department KPI tracking and reporting
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Leadership Team and Legal Dept. to manage Dealer Agreement “best efforts” compliance process; negotiate managed dealer self-termination agreements & legal settlements as required
  • Administrates MAP Policy violation review process
  • Works cross-functionally with IS and Sales Operations to maintain and update competitive manufacturer dealer lists and reporting, dealer mapping, and market opportunity reports
  • Thorough and comprehensive understanding of diverse powersports business models & metrics

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Required:

  • Bachelor Degree required in business or an equivalent field, with an emphasis in Sales or Marketing
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, self-directed business style, with strong ability to prioritize
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent telephone and e-mail skills
  • Negotiating & innate ability at overcoming objections
  • Self-confidence, thick skin, & proven track record of success managing highly contentious situations and projects
  • 5 years’ relevant sales, account management or customer service experience. 
  • Strong reading comprehension & proficiency dealing with motor vehicle-related legal terminology and concepts
  • Strong computer skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Process-oriented, highly regimented, likes structure
  • Driven; High energy and aptitude for problem solving

Preferred:

  • Field Sales experience
  • Powersports products industry knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Polaris business and Polaris product knowledge
  • An understanding, appreciation and passion for Polaris product & value propositions and key competitors

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Location – Bass Creek Facility, Plymouth, MN

• Corporate office environment; Hybrid work model (three days in office and two days remote per week).

• Travel required, up to 25% of the time, mainly to Polaris Sales Meetings & Dealer Shows
