VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center at the new Adult Outpatient Pavilion offers a single point of care for outpatient cancer services to include hematology, medical, surgical and radiation oncology clinics. We are an NCI Cancer Center that offers clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, enhanced imaging and more to provide comprehensive treatment options.

Program Manager, Cancer Service Line (CSL)

The Program Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Operations and the Manager of Patient & Family Support Services at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role focuses on managing and implementing the Integrative Health program, supporting community partnerships, and enhancing the Every Woman’s Life (EWL) program at VCU Health. Responsibilities also include overseeing staffing and resource needs at the AOP Integrative Health Resource Center and addressing marketing and communication needs for Patient & Family Support Services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CSL Manager to drive programmatic growth, implementation, and evaluation.
• Partner with community leaders, stakeholders, and CSL leadership to create project plans, manage the project portfolio, define metrics, and report on program outcomes.
• Support various initiatives within Patient & Family Support Services, including Integrative Health and psychosocial support.
• Foster community partnerships that align with the strategic objectives of the organization.
• Assist in grant writing to expand services offered under Patient & Family Support Services.
• Act as a liaison with the Massey Office of Community Engagement and support public relations/communications efforts.
• Provide assistance for other CSL programs like EWL and Patient Assistance funding requests.

Required Experience:

• Minimum six years in planning and managing health social services in a healthcare setting or community programs, including at least three years in developing collaborative partnerships related to community health.
• Three years of experience in community outreach and addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDoH).
• Strong resource management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate group discussions.
• Data analysis skills to drive performance improvements.
• Commitment to improving the lives of underserved populations and building community relationships.

Preferred Experience:

• Five or more years in public policy, healthcare, or a related field.
• Previous experience with grant proposal writing.
• Background in program development and implementation with community leaders.
• Experience in budget oversight and fiscal management.

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, public policy, or a related field, or four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education:
• Master’s degree in Health Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, or related fields.
• Nursing degree or an advanced degree (e.g., MBA).

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in planning, development, and administration of health social services within a healthcare environment or programs at local community, county or state level to include a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in developing and supporting collaborative partnerships both internally and externally related to the health of communities or three (3)  years’ experience in community outreach, Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) related need identification and resource allocation.
Ability to manage resources and coordinate across areas and cross functionally.
Demonstrates participatory style, high energy, and a bias for action, with excellent judgment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to facilitate groups effectively.
Ability to analyze reports and use data to drive, performance results.

Experience PREFERRED:
