OPERATIONS SPECIALIST I

Status:              Full time, Hourly, Non-Exempt                                                  Location:         Corporate/Flex

Pay: The expected hiring range for this position is from $47,694-$55,000/year plus additional bonus opportunity. The stated hiring range is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Final compensation decisions will take into account a variety of considerations, including individual skills, internal equity, and organizational needs.

Position Summary

The Operations Specialist I will assist the Closing department. This position requires excellent communication and strong organizational skills. The candidate will be customer service oriented (both inside and outside clients), work well in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task. This position will report to the Senior Underwriting Manager. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Accept new closing scheduling requests from branches and review for quality, minimum submission standards; and reject files that do not meet minimum standards
• Assign new file scrubs to coordinators in Sterling and Smartsheet
• Complete a thorough checkdown of new file scrubs in according with departmental standards 
• Complete random quality control checks of loans at various stages to ensure compliance with department standards
• Conduct a thorough analysis of all LE’s, COC’s, and lock confirmations and identify any inconsistencies or missing items that may be present prior to the file being assigned to a Closer
• Confirm completeness and accuracy of system data related to contract, wiring instructions, title work, closing and funding screens, document delivery dates, and file event dates
• Proficient in the company’s tickler system
• Review documentation including but not limited to title work, disclosures, insurance, contracts
• Responsible for a minimum of 6.5 hours of task productivity, subject to change according to company needs.
• Ensure VOE completion and compliance in accordance with company standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Education and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year’s mortgage experience
• Processing or Closing experience helpful but not required
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of mortgage products and process flow
• Knowledge of regulatory issues surrounding consumer lending products and guidelines

Skills

• Proficient in typing
• Excellent Time Management
• Proven Written and Verbal Communication skills

Technology Needs

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Adobe PDF, Excel and Teams
