The SVP of Business Development will: 
• Work closely with the Business Unit President to develop and execute a comprehensive, 
forward-leaning business development strategy aligned with the business unit’s objectives, the 
company’s corporate strategy, and evolving customer needs. 
• Own and manage the business development pipeline, ensuring a balanced portfolio of near- and 
long-term opportunities across defense, intelligence, federal civilian, and other related markets. 
• Translate complex technical requirements and mission needs into differentiated, winnable 
proposal solutions, and ensure these solutions align with customer missions, market trends, and 
internal capabilities. 
• Oversee cradle-to-grave business development activities, from identification through award, 
including customer engagement, teaming strategies, win themes, pricing strategy, and final 
proposal submission. 
• Evaluate and elevate the performance of the business development and capture team. Lead 
organizational change, attract high-caliber talent, and foster a culture of accountability, 
innovation, and urgency. 
• Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and proposal development teams to 
ensure integration of technical, cost, and management strategies into compelling proposals.

 Stay attuned to market trends, competitor positioning, and customer funding priorities to inform 
strategy and drive proactive engagement. 
• Represent our client externally with senior customers and industry partners, and internally with 
the executive leadership team. 

Required Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field; Master’s degree 
preferred. 
• 15+ years of progressive experience in business development, capture, or program leadership in 
the defense, aerospace, intelligence, or federal services industry. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead and win large, complex proposals, with a strong understanding of 
the DoD, IC, or federal civilian procurement processes. 
• Technical expertise with the ability to shape and evaluate advanced solutions across software 
development, engineering, IT, cyber, logistics, or mission support domains. 
• Proven ability to develop business at executive and mid-levels. 
• Proven experience driving organizational change and improving business development team 
performance and responsiveness. 
• Collaborative leader with the ability to pull together cross-functional support for business 
development initiatives.  
• Ability to upsell and expand services from existing contracts. 
• Successful track record developing business in new markets. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Excellent proposal development skills. 
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask. 
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
