Uspace is a State-wide Private Mental Health Service for young adults (16 to 30 years) who experience mood, anxiety or early psychotic disorders. We provide inpatient and outpatient services.  The 20 single room inpatient facility consists of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians who together provide a comprehensive program to engage patients in their mental health care.  Our day program services, offer groups that aim to develop participants’ knowledge and skills of mental health care. The goal is to support help-seeking practices as well as enabling young adults to reduce the degree of social isolation that often accompanies experiences of mental ill-health.  In short, our service offers interventions to promote functional recovery. Uspace is integrated into the current health, support services and planning of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS).

We are looking for clinicians who are highly motivated, who are willing to engage in the challenges & rewards of providing group therapy and who thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. Interested clinicians must have the relevant qualifications and demonstrated clinical experience in working in mental health especially with young people. Interested clinicians must be fluent in third wave cognitive-behaviour therapy, especially Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.  Our service is a rapidly evolving one and we are keen to recruit clinicians interested in service development and evaluation.

As SVPHS is a not for profit hospital, staff are also eligible to “Package” up to $15,000 per year, making this portion of your income tax free, maximizing your take home pay. In addition we also offer a “Meal Entertainment” card, which enables you to have fun dinning out with friends and family, whilst further reducing your taxable income.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration in the relevant discipline with APHRA or AASW
