Summary:
As a Cloud Migration Engineer, you will engage in a dynamic environment where you assess existing solutions and infrastructure to facilitate their migration to the cloud. Your typical day involves planning, delivering, and implementing application and data migration strategies that leverage both private and public cloud technologies. You will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure that the migration processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the organization's business objectives, ultimately driving next-generation outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Lead the migration of on-premises Oracle databases to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Experienced in database modernization, upgradation.
Maintains database by determining structural requirements and developing and installing solutions.
Experienced in the design and delivery of complex solutions across a range of problem spaces and can demonstrate this.
Develop cloud migration strategies and execute migrations to cloud environments.
Optimize cloud resources to improve performance and reduce costs.
Design and implement data migration strategies for heterogeneous database environments.
Evaluate existing database architecture and propose modernization strategies.
Optimize database performance and resource utilization in cloud environments.
Implement security best practices for cloud-based databases.
Develop automation scripts and tools for database migration and monitoring.
Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and clients.
Assess, recommend, and implement open-source database solutions where applicable (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Utilize Azure Data Factory for efficient and scalable data movement and transformation.
Very Good Knowledge of Oracle Cloud technologies and resources (IaaS, IAM policies, Networking, VPN setup)
Experience with heterogenous database migration.
Develop migration strategies, perform schema conversion, data migration, and validate migrated data.
Optimize database performance post-migration and address any compatibility issues.
Analyze existing database schemas, data structures, and dependencies to develop comprehensive migration strategies.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and minimal downtime during migration.
Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies post-migration to enhance database performance in the new environment.
Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Deploy, manage, and optimize databases in Cloud Native environments and DBPaaS platforms, including Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, MongoDB Atlas, Azure Cosmos DB, Amazon Aurora, MariaDB on Azure, Google Cloud Spanner, Couchbase Cloud, Amazon DocumentDB, and DataStax Cassandra.
Implement and enforce security policies and monitor resources for cost optimization in cloud environments.
Administer Oracle Exadata environments, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
Manage Oracle Autonomous Database instances, leveraging autonomous features for automated operations and maintenance.
Familiarity with Oracle Exadata, Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle 23ai (Vector Database), and Engineered Systems such as ExaCC & ExaCS.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for migration processes, database configurations, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, infrastructure architects, and business stake holders.


Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in migrating Oracle databases to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Strong proficiency in Oracle Database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS RDS, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
Expertise in Azure Data Factory for data integration, transformation, and orchestration.
Understanding of heterogeneous database migration challenges and solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications in Oracle Database and cloud platforms are a plu

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (DBA).
