PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The VPBD will be a talented sales professional with the experience, vision, and creativity to sell Simon’s properties as a Marketing Medium to brands, advertising agencies, and local businesses. The individual in this position will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team and will be responsible for driving revenue across all assets within the region.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Manage the sales effort throughout the region and achieve the regional revenue goals.
- Achieve an individual sales goal that includes developing new business and growing existing accounts.
- Manage monthly forecasting, budgeting, and contract approval for all properties in the region.
- Be a strong leader with the ability to coach and support a team of Directors of Mall Marketing & Business Development in their local sales efforts.
- Responsible for hiring and managing the Advertising Sales Team members in the their region; coaching and supporting them to achieve their personal and property goals.
- Responsible for communicating daily with local property teams, corporate management, and all key members of the regional leadership team.
- Manage, analyze and facilitate multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Expected to create compelling client solutions to advertising objectives, articulate the benefits of Simon Malls, and close large multi property advertising, sponsorship, or promotional programs on a regular basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 10 years’ experience selling advertising, sponsorships, and events.
- Have in depth knowledge and personal contacts in the advertising, agency, and marketing community. OOH industry experience and contacts is a plus.
- Be an extremely self-motivated, independent, energetic person who can handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Possess superior computer skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing are essential to success.
- Superior media negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Some overnight travel required
