Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in in Pharmacy or Life Sciences or BioEngineering related discipline 

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a credit-bearing internship 

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English   

Expected Start date: January to June 2025

What will you do?  

This opportunity offers an opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical medicine area and work in GSK’s Greater China and Intercontinental Regional Medical function. The intern will be working with the Medical Excellence and Operations Regional Director for the GCI region on specific special project(s) in regional medical affairs. The assignment will facilitate learning more about the pharmaceutical environment in which medical teams operate, the different internal and external facing medical activities of the medical teams, how strategic medical external engagement plan can be mapped and executed through DDCX (data driven customer experience) omnichannel engagement pilot projects 

 

The assignment will also provide an opportunity to get involved in data collection, data analytics and/or visual performance management, with introduction to various tools and systems in use within the company. Opportunities presented include regular interactions with global, regional, and local teams related to the special project(s), GCI Medical Leadership Team, and getting a bird’s eye view of global, regional, and country level medical operations. 

 

You will be required to: 

  • Understand the medical affairs landscape 

  • Liaise with a variety of key stakeholders across time zones, geographies, and functions 

  • Lead project management and co-ordination of specific special project(s) in GCI Medical 

  • Contribute to the development of medical external engagement strategic and tactical plans and tools to enable effective external engagement in a digital world 

  • Contribute and participate in the review and reporting of the results to GCI Medical LT / Global Medical.

  • Get a bird’s eye view of global, regional and country level medical operations.

  • Have access to a plethora of training resources including scientific, functional and business-related modules 

  • Obtain broad knowledge of the medical function in biopharmaceutical organizations 

  • Develop soft skills required for working in large multinational corporations 

 

What are we looking for?  

Competencies 

  • Educational background – studying life sciences, pharmacy or biological sciences  

  • Digital native, proficient in use of IT and software/systems, ideally for Excel and MS Power BI.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills 

  • Analytical and data driven 

  • Deadline-driven, flexible with self-reliance to work in an empowered environment 

  • Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams

  • A keen interest in medical/pharmaceutical sciences, product and development, and a passion for knowledge
