Job Description:
Role Description
The primary function of the Build Operative is to provide technical support in several areas of focus allowing the deployment and integration of customer solutions. They are responsible for implementing technical solutions for the customer in accordance with agreed technical designs and specifications.
The Build Operative works with and under the direction of the Project Manager/Technical Consultant.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of work environment aligned with 5s
· Deployment of solutions based on pre-defined processes and customer requirements Solution integration (hardware, software, predefined (or customer defined) services/ operating systems and applications.
· Solution deployment in conjunction with customer and other internal departments
Personal Skills, Knowledge & Experience required
• Ability to cooperate and work with the Technical team.
• Able to communicate and present issues with assurance and confidence.
• Ability to cooperate with a team to achieve required technical deliverables.
• Operating system knowledge/experience or system administration knowledge/experience on one or more of the following domains Linux / Windows.
• Be familiar with customising OS system settings.
• Be familiar with different file systems types.
• Basic Linux/Windows shell/batch knowledge and database experience • Experience in running shell scripts (Korn Shell / C-Shell / BASH).
• Be familiar with script routines.
• Be familiar with online databases (MySQL) and data entry via web forms.
• Have basic knowledge of different network components.
• Be familiar with TCP/IP series protocols like DHCP, FTP, SSH, Telnet • Be familiar with the concept of network PXE booting • Have basic knowledge of making/changing BIOS settings.
• Some experience in diagnosing basic faults on hard drives, faulty LEDs etc.
