Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Assistant to support our Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance underwriting team. The ideal candidate will assist underwriters with policy processing, risk assessment support, documentation, and client service. Utilize technology to rate policy premiums for all new/renew lines, endorsements and cancellations.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and technical support to underwriters in the review and processing of insurance applications.
  • Prepare, review, and issue policy documents, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Perform preliminary risk assessments and identify missing or incomplete information.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in underwriting and policy management systems.
  • Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain additional information or resolve
  • discrepancies.
  • Assist in monitoring policy renewals, deadlines, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare underwriting files, correspondence, and reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely policy issuance.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.


Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Excellent computer skills (emailing, computer rating)
  • Provide research and analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information
  • to provide recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (particularly, excel, word, and outlook) in PC-windows operating system.
  • Ability to learn new software applications.
  • Proven ability to work with goals.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Multi-lingual in spoken Chinese (mandarin or cantonese)

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
