Role summary
As part of Mistral’s 2026 web strategy, we’re expanding our core website team. Our public site is the face of our brand and is seen by millions; we want it to embody our innovation and audacity.
We’re looking for a Frontend Web Engineer who can blend creative vision with technical rigour to build visually stunning, performant interfaces. You’ll drive the creative and technical direction of our public‑facing web ecosystem - redesigning key pages, building interactive experiences, and experimenting with modern stacks like React, Next.js, Astro or Svelte.
This is a mid‑level role (3–5 years’ experience) within a small, agile team. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, marketers and developer‑relations to push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web, delivering work that reaches millions.
What you will do
Our mission is to deliver a world-class digital face for Mistral. In this role you will:
• Build and maintain our websites. Using modern frameworks like React, Next.js, Svelte and Astro, you’ll develop responsive, accessible pages and reusable components. • Create interactive experiences. Bring our brand to life with animations and micro-interactions that delight users while ensuring strong performance and accessibility.
• Collaborate across disciplines. Work closely with designers, marketers and developers to launch high-impact pages, campaigns and microsites.
• Optimise and innovate. Ensure our sites load quickly, scale gracefully and meet Core Web Vitals while exploring new technologies to keep us ahead of the curve.
About you
• 3–5 years of frontend experience. You’re proficient in React, Next.js, Astro or Svelte and ideally have a portfolio of creative web projects. You have managed multiple websites and are comfortable building both static and dynamic pages from scratch.
• Strong creative and technical skills. You understand static vs dynamic architectures, have an eye for visual design and animation, and can implement micro-interactions that enhance user experience. You’re adept with CSS animations, SVGs and libraries like Lottie, and you care about details like easing curves and timing.
• Performance and accessibility-focused. You optimise for speed, scalability and cross-browser compatibility. You know how to measure and improve Core Web Vitals, and you implement websites that are accessible and usable for all users.
• Collaborative and adaptable. You thrive in a small, agile team and enjoy working with designers, marketers and fellow engineers. You are comfortable experimenting with new frameworks and are open to feedback. Autonomy, creativity and teamwork are core to how you work.
Nice to have: experience with Astro or Svelte; agency or freelance background with a wide range of creative projects; familiarity with headless CMSs (Directus, Sanity, etc.).

Location & Remote
The position is based in our Paris HQ offices and we encourage going to the office as much as we can (at least 3 days per week) to create bonds and smooth communication. Our remote policy aims to provide flexibility, improve work-life balance and increase productivity. Each manager can decide the amount of days worked remotely based on autonomy and a specific context (e.g. more flexibility can occur during summer). In any case, employees are expected to maintain regular communication with their teams and be available during core working hours.
