The Store Floor Planning Analyst maintains JDA store floorplans for all chain stores and is responsible for applying the approved assortment and layout strategy to the floorplan. By doing this, a floor plan will be drawn up that meets the company’s performance sales goals in assigned categories or group of stores. This position will utilize various floor planning software and will require in-depth knowledge of these programs to meet company objectives. In addition, this position will work closely with field teams, providing support for floor plan set and working collaboratively with various cross-functional groups. Utilizing various analysis techniques, the Store Floor Planning Analyst will contribute to the overall success and strategy behind JOANN floor plans.

JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for the maintenance of JDA Store Floor plan merchandise layouts:
    • Create store specific data driven JDA floorplans for regular recurring chain publishes and company category shifts. Complete each overview plan prior to publication to ensure all plans are accurate and executable at store level.
    • Responsible for maintaining an assigned group of stores while providing direct support to Field Leadership Regional VPs and District Managers.
    • Understand the impact of space moves on cross functional teams and their needs to support the moves, such as In-store Marketing.
    • Develop store layouts using standards, business rules, best practices, code requirements and regulations, capacity and adjacencies to ensure the most effective product placement, space allocation, and flow.
    • Assist with the steps in space planning, layout, adjacency, live floorplans and merchandise listing and all related processes for JDA store floor plans.
    • Assist with preparing floor plans for review and approval to various leaders and depts.
    • Responsible for reviewing existing store survey information. Update live floorplan and merchandise listing to reflect any changes.
    • Assist with resolution of merchandise program issues (chain and project stores) in a timely and effective way.
  • Analysis assistance:
    • Use JDA’s Floor Planning, Category Knowledgebase, tools, applications and related processes to establish and continually improve procedures effecting JDA floor planning, space planning and data manager reporting, floor plan production efficiency and accuracy,
    • Understand and use brand standards, design intent and best practices to ensure merchandising consistency across all floor plans.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    • Track and report on progress and completion of tasks and other key metrics and deadlines.
    • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of cross functional teams (Store planning, ISM, Store Operations, Space Planning, collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop knowledge.
    • Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in related field and Vocational/Technical training in CAD/JDA/Blue Yonder/or other Space Planning tool

Experience Minimum: 3 years’ experience in JDA floor planning/floor planning tool, as well as merchandising or store design, with focus on store layouts.

Experience Preferred: 3-5 years’ experience in JDA floor planning/floor planning tool, as well as merchandising, retail store design, retail operations, or project management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient skill in CAD/JDA/ Blue Yonder/Space Planning tool required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners and amongst peers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow direction and criteria to make interpretations and decisions.
