We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior project manager to lead IT projects for enterprise software systems. This role ensures customer satisfaction of information technology solutions by managing the details of overall project/program schedules and deliverables. This role leads and monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
Planning
Plan the project(s) in sufficient detail to ensure integration of all activities, identification of cross-portfolio dependencies, and understanding of critical paths and key milestones.
Obtain approval of the plan through effective communication skills, ensuring thorough understanding of the plan, its implications on revenues, resources, and deliverables.
Ensure non-people resources are identified so that the project budget will be accurate and remain affordable.
Delivery and maintain an approved project plan, showing detailed tasks, key milestones, resource assignment and dependencies along with durations and timeline.
Identification of any constraints and risks that may impact the ability of the project to deliver to time, cost and quality parameters.
Resourcing
Identify resourcing needs including cross- departmental resources in line with the project plan.
Direct and motivate the project team(s) to achieve the desired results, often using matrix management, and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout the project.
Ensure effective management of third-party suppliers to the project(s).
Execution & Control
Ensure application of thorough risk and issue management across the project(s), instigate mitigation actions, identify contingency plans, and manage items through to conclusion.
Ensure effective communication to the project teams, internal and external stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and customers.
Manage proposed changes to project parameters – e.g. scope, budget, schedules.
Monitor the quality of project deliverables and ensure project objectives are met.
Conduct project meetings and attend program and portfolio meetings where required.
Scrum Master
Use Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, across several scrum teams, initiatives and geographical time zones.
Host regular sprint ceremonies to monitor day-to-day activities, ensure work is progressing as planned, and remove impediments to delivery.
Demonstrate clear understanding of stakeholder needs, goals, and objectives.
Consistently manage stakeholder expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on stakeholder feedback.
Qualifications:
Experience: 4 year degree/post 4 year degree, and typically 5 - 7 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
Experience in working with global, distributed teams is a plus.
Experience of different project management approaches e.g. waterfall, scrum, agile, kanban, etc.
Frequently interacts with functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.
