The Enterprise Tools Data Engineer is a key member of the Engineering team, responsible for designing and implementing data engineering solutions across the enterprise tooling ecosystem.

This role requires deep expertise in Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, and Kafka to build scalable data platforms, ingestion frameworks, and Lakehouse architectures that enable analytics, reporting, and AI-driven insights.

The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architecture, analytics, and business stakeholders, to deliver trusted, performant, and compliant datasets.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build end‑to‑end data ingestion pipelines across Snowflake, Fabric, and AWS.
  • Implement batch and streaming ETL/ELT using SQL, Python, and Kafka.
  • Develop scalable Lakehouse architectures (Bronze → Silver → Gold layers).
  • Optimize pipeline performance, cost efficiency, data reliability, and cloud resource utilization.
  • Apply rigorous data quality practices, automated testing, and engineering standards.
  • Partner with analytics engineers and product teams to deliver trusted, well-modelled datasets.
  • Capture requirements and deliver tailored solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation for all enhancements and deployments.
  • Conduct knowledge‑sharing sessions to uplift team skills and engineering best practices.
  • Work with LSEG Architecture group in defining potential technology solutions and ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
  • Collaborate with business and functional leads to socialise technology projects and obtain cross functional approvals from Legal, Group Risk, Compliance, LCH Ltd/LCH SA,

Technical Skills

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong SQL + Python for ETL/ELT on Snowflake & Fabric Pipelines.
  • Experience with API ingestion + streaming (Kafka/Kinesis).
  • Hands‑on with Lakehouse formats (Parquet/Delta/Iceberg).
  • Solid understanding of cloud data architectures (AWS S3, Glue, Lambda).
  • Data modelling + performance tuning in warehouse/lakehouse environments.
  • Understanding Agile Methodologies

Optional Skills

  • Snowpark, Fabric Notebooks, dbt‑style transformation frameworks.
  • Event-driven patterns, schema registry, CDC (if applicable).

Good to Have (DevOps & Observability)

  • CI/CD for data pipelines, IaaC basics (Terraform).
  • Data quality/observability tools (Great Expectations, Monte Carlo).
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools, Project management tools like Clarity or Planview and Service Now

Soft Skills:

  • Strong Planning, organizational and stakeholder management, with confidence to challenge preconceptions of outcomes and solutions.
  • Good communication, presentation, documentation, and customer engagement skills with proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Global experience – working successfully with teams in multiple locations simultaneously.
