As the Senior Director Billing & Finance Operations, you will be responsible for managing our Global Billing team and overseeing the India Finance and Operations Center of Excellence covering operations, HR and all finance, accounting, and compliance functions for IAS, Pune.  This requires hands-on management of our global billing team as well as dotted line oversight across all financial management encompassing accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and will act as the primary point of contact in the region.

The ideal candidate will be a strategist and a leader with strong experience who can execute quickly, operate independently, and oversee key initiatives. 

The role involves maintaining a highly collaborative environment that fuels innovation and fosters continuous improvement.  Connecting operations staff to the wider technical and R&D teams is important as is inspiring and elevating your team to deliver solutions that will improve performance, efficiency, regional support, and provide thought leadership to both our internal and external customers.

What you’ll do:

Global Billing Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all global invoicing.
  • Is a subject matter expert for Billing and liaises with cross functional teams on projects for efficiency and scalability.
  • Trains, develops, and supervises Global Billing team. 
  • Frequent inspection of the quality and accuracy of the team’s output.
  • Coordinates the creations and updates of invoicing documentation, in line with company and accounting policies.
  • Review ordering documents to confirm ordering details are correctly entered into our sales and financial accounting systems as per SOX controls.
  • Ensures the accuracy of deal closure and invoicing, such that all invoices are issued in accordance with proper G/L impact and company policies.
  • Communicate order discrepancies/errors to sales and financial management. 
  • Monitor and respond to internal queries and escalations via email, Slack.
  • Responsible for credit memo requests for all credit and rebills, including support to obtain approvals.
  • Completes monthly closing tasks, maintains accurate reporting with supporting detail.
  • Assists with audit preparation for all interim and year-end audits.
  • Define, establish, execute, and consistently track KPI’s and other benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
  • Support month-end close processes for the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management information

India Finance Operations Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for the Pune location.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, business owners, and vendors on critical business process related initiatives; develop strategies and design improvements to drive innovation and improve the overall business. 
  • Partner with global functional leads will help manage all local employees and have dotted line responsibility for HR and workplace operation teams.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative office culture that encourages innovation and creativity. Implement engagement initiatives to boost team morale and increase productivity
  • Oversee and support other key deliverables such as the statutory audits, month-end reporting, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure that the Company complies with all applicable employment, legal, tax and regulatory requirements. Will serve as a director on the India Board.
  • Ad-hoc projects related to administration, operational and accounting needs 

What you'll need:

  • 15+ years’ experience in a Shared Service or Finance Operations Position with 5+ years billing and 5+ years of management experience
  • Ideally you will come from AdTech, Technology or Media/Advertising industry 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience; certifications in Accounting/Finance are a plus
  • Solid understanding of billings, collections, and general accounting
  • Build strong relationships with senior management & non-financial staff
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills
  • Good level of computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel and Finance & Accounting software’s)
