Business Bank Line 2 Operational Risk team is responsible for ensuring business activities, processes and our products are appropriately managing existing and emerging risks. We do this by providing advice, monitoring, and independent oversight of business activities.
In delivering these services, our key aim is to support Business Bank and the Group to achieve its strategic objectives, including operating within the BB Risk Appetite.

This role will primarily focus on ensuring operational risk within credit processes will be are appropriately managed. You will be the trusted advisor, be an effective second layer of assurance and you will be supporting & enhancing the risk/reward culture across Business Bank. The role will report into the Executive Manager Operational Risk and Compliance.
You will work closely with the Business (including Line 1 Risk Management) and other Risk functions (Credit Risk, Compliance, Group Operational Risk, Operational Risk, Technology Risk and Financial Crime), which also support the business.
Specifically, you will:
Within the lending and credit risk processes, identify areas of risk concerns and/or where greater transparency is required including conducting deep dive reviews.
With a focus on op risk in credit processes provide advice in relation to the business’ risk profile, emerging risks, and better practice risk management.
Work cohesively across teams delivering positive customer outcomes, in line with CBA’s values (care, courage and commitment)
Work in an agile manner and across disciplines to facilitate rapid response to emerging risks.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across BB and influencing the continued enhancement of risk maturity.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Demonstrated commercial experience and exposure to Business Banking including the end to end of business lending and credit risk processes.
People with a passion for operational risk and credit risk management
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think critically, analytically and strategically
Strong organisational, planning, time management and project management skills.
A proactive, curious mindset with a strong team focus and desire to drive results and deliver customer satisfaction.
Perform high quality, risk-focused analytics providing management with powerful insights to drive better risk management across Business Banking
Experience in successfully communicating with and influencing your peers and management, as well as the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead as an owner, seeking out obstacles and finding solutions
