Overview
You will be given a high level of responsibility and autonomy to create success. Our team culture encourages you to consistently find better ways to shape and deliver our New Homes Program to homebuilders. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to engage with industry leading homebuilders. You will be joining a small and highly collaborative team where people step up for one another. While we have industry-leading solar solutions for homebuilders, we understand that in New Homes, execution is the product. We plan, act and communicate accordingly both internally and with our builder partners. This role will be at the core of our product offering!
Responsibilities
Function as the subject matter expert for all New Homes field execution across in your dedicated territory and serve as overflow in surrounding areas when needed
Help define, document and implement the New Homes Field Guide in cooperation with key Sunrun stakeholders
Maintain high technician efficiency and quality across your area
Closely work with our Build Partners to ensure proper execution in line with the Sunrun Field Guide and Installation Manual
Successfully launch new communities by attending Kick-off meetings, Precon walk-throughs and other key builder meetings
Understand and address the builders’ solar requirements and remain available to other trades as needed. (i.e. roofer, electrician, plumber)
Advise the builders and the other trades on solar. Address builder-specific requirements while staying within Sunrun’s operational capabilities
Communicate proactively, follow-up, follow-through and build lasting, trusting relationships with the various homebuilder field operations staff, including Superintendents, Electrification Managers and Construction Leadership
Be the main point of contact for the builder’s construction teams with timely responsiveness and an educational mindset
Set and own the installation schedule for each Sunrun-performed New Homes community by staying in close face-to-face, phone and email communication with the site superintendents and by regularly visiting the jobsites (i.e. every 2 weeks)
Ensure 100% schedule accuracy and adherence
Adopt, manage and grow relationships with each Branch team member who assist in fulfilling New Homes installation
Secure a high level of communication with each of these teammates and ensure that each branch produces the best possible field execution on new homes communities
Ensure EM’s assign highly qualified crews to New Homes jobs. Ensure crew availability per schedule requirements
Train the crews, (both trim and rough in technicians) and motivate them about New Homes Ops
Serve as the main point of contact for New Homes related requirements and questions
Ensure crew execution in the field (including random site visits). Ensure proper quality and safety execution by both the Sunrun crews and build partner crews
Agree on installation targets with New Homes program management and develop an operations plan (i.e. target install rates, number of rough ins and trim installs, etc.)
Implement the plan quickly and aggressively. Document all contacts and construction activities and report on and review activities and progress weekly
Manage the new vendor on-boarding process for new electrical and roofing subcontractors. This includes review and coordination of all legal documents with the Sunrun legal team, and other relevant paperwork, coordinating with various Sunrun departments
Coordinate closely with the assigned New Homes Account Manager and Program Manager
Assign a dedicated lead installer for assistance in maintaining appropriate installation timelines.
Be in each tract no less than once every 2 weeks. Make contact face to face with the jobsite Superintendents to talk through how the team is performing and report back on install timeline changes
Help set the strategic direction of Sunrun’s New Homes field execution over time, including EPC versus In-house execution, cost studies, field standardization strategies, install labor time studies, product optimizations and assessments etc
Key Activities and Characteristics
You will play a major role in growing Sunrun’s New Homes business through the development of construction and planning strategies, development of SOP’s and problem solving and effective communication
You are confident and adept at working with and influencing Supervisor, Manager and Director-level Sunrun employees, delivering presentations and motivating key stakeholders
You have attention to detail, are organized and follow through on your commitments and persevere through perceived challenges
You possess the ability to work quickly and efficiently by effectively managing your time and work deadlines
You seek efficiencies in construction and operations processes to enhance safety, quality, overall efficiency and profitability
You are capable of accurately forecasting on weekly, monthly and quarterly intervals
You will engage with the design team, BOM’s, IC’s, CS’s and other key team members to achieve high level of construction execution and schedule adherence
You will develop documents and presentations capturing the New Homes field installation, construction details and best practices
You will identify potential project-specific aspects that may deviate from the standard Program and require special approvals or attention
Evaluate cost and feasibility of such aspects and suggest possible solutions and paths forward
You will ensure that proper working relationships are established and processes and timelines are understood and supported by all parties
You will build great working relationships and work cross-functionally with homebuilders, New Homes program management, account management, quality and safety teams to ensure outstanding experiences for our customers (both builders and homebuyers)
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in operations or project management
Enthusiasm, drive, and excitement to be a part of the solution and build a new channel for Sunrun
Ability and desire to work across multiple functions, get people aligned and motivate, and follow through – assert pressure as needed – to drive projects to completion
Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining promptness in responses and deliverables
Strong understanding of new residential construction and solar integration into new build projects
Knowledge of & experience in a broad spectrum of solar PV integration and installation practices
Experience in managing a portfolio of projects
Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, Powerpoint
Physical Demands
Be able to remain in a seated position or drive for more than 50 percent of the workday (as needed)
Ability to visit job sites and access roofs at heights of 3 stories or less in strict compliance with Sunrun’s safety policy and requirements
Ability to perform normal office duties and to operate office equipment including computers
Ability and willingness to host or attend early morning toolbox meetings at warehouses and job sites

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$90,556.99 to $120,742.65Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
