Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will drive the integration of sustainability into Information Systems (IS) by strengthening Green IS capabilities—training and awareness, project delivery, and performance measurement. You will partner with IS product, service, and operations teams as a sustainability subject‑matter expert, leading and supporting initiatives that align IS priorities with ABB’s sustainability goals. You will also build and maintain the frameworks, learning materials, and reporting needed to embed Green IS practices at scale.

This role contributes to ABB’s sustainability agenda and sits within our global Information Systems team. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including Workplace, Technology & platform, Architecture, People excellence teams and third-party vendors.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Green IS expertise: Act as the Green IS subject‑matter expert, advising teams on how to embed sustainable practices across IS.
• Training & awareness: Design, maintain, and deliver Green IS learning offer (curriculum, eLearning, events, documentation…), tailored by role with clear learning paths.
• Project management: Lead and support projects that align IS objectives with enterprise sustainability priorities.
• Performance management: Develop and run an IS sustainability performance process, defining metrics, collecting data, and reporting progress across cloud, data centers, end‑user devices, AI, and vendors, aligned to external standards (e.g. GHG Protocol).
• Community management: Build and lead a community of practice; organize learning events, showcases, and knowledge‑sharing sessions to scale adoption.

Qualifications for the role

• 5–10 years of experience in project management, continuous improvement, and change management (experience in IT is a strong plus).
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record implementing sustainability initiatives in IT, ideally in a large enterprise or industrial environment.
• Certifications or formal training in sustainability, project management, data analytics, ITIL, and change management are a plus.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and align stakeholders around shared outcomes.
• Strong, persuasive communication skills with ability to translate between IS and sustainability audiences and influence change in a complex organization.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented approach to designing practical initiatives and embedding sustainability into IS ways of working.
• Agility to navigate evolving regulations, technologies, and business priorities
• Self‑driven and comfortable working independently in a global environment.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
