About the Role
As a software engineer—finance automation, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions to improve finance processes and operational efficiency. You will work closely with finance, digital, and transformation teams to understand business requirements, develop automated workflows, and support automation initiatives across the organization. This role requires strong programming skills, SAP Finance process understanding, and the ability to manage automation projects from development through deployment.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to evaluate automation opportunities and understand functional automation requirements.
Design, develop, test, and maintain automation workflows and custom solutions using Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic (VBA), and SAP Scripting.
Participate in process improvement workshops and brainstorming sessions to identify and propose new automation solutions.
Support cross-functional teams, including Finance Transformation and Digital, to drive automation best practices.
Contribute to project planning activities, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination using Agile methodologies.
Manage and support automation project lifecycles, including evaluation, planning, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Track project progress, communicate status updates, and support benefit realization reporting for stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and governance standards.
Mentor junior team members and support automation initiatives across accounting, master data, and reporting functions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
What You Need to Be Successful
4-6 years of experience in automation engineering, software engineering, or process automation roles.
3+ years of experience delivering automation or process improvement projects.
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronics engineering, information systems, computing, software engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic (VBA), and SAP scripting.
Knowledge of automation platforms and workflow development.
Good understanding of SAP FI/CO modules and finance business processes.
Experience in troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and maintaining automation solutions.
Strong project coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience with RPA and automation tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or similar platforms.
Exposure to finance transformation or shared services environments.
Familiarity with SAP ERP integrations and automation frameworks.
Experience working in Agile project environments.
Knowledge of process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience mentoring junior engineers or supporting cross-functional automation initiatives.
