As a member of the Gas Turbine Engineering Combustion Design module, you will be an active contributor to our development of Aeroderivative combustion systems. This role entails fast-paced, diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and analytical contexts, including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: hand-calculations, determining boundary condition inputs for FEA and CFD analyses, preparation and design of laboratory & field test hardware, and verbal & written presentation of data/conclusions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, FEA, test data and good engineering judgement to justify designs against acceptance criteria.

  • Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.

  • Have some autonomy to make decisions with a defined framework. In addition, he/she will consult and seek support from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.

  • Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.

  • Protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety, 2. Quality, 3. Delivery, 4. Cost, and with priority ordered as such.

  • Maintain a basic understanding of key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum 1 year of engineering experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate

  • Coursework and/or experience in gas turbine design and combustion design

  • Excellent presentation & communication skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
