About the Role:
The Junior Marketing Manager at Elsevier China will work closely with China marketing team and Greater China’s key stakeholders, to elevate the company's presence and strengthen brand reputation in research via events marketing and Partner relationships management in Greater China.
Responsibilities:
Commercial Partnership: 75%
We need a marketing specialist to manage the promotion and the execution of the event and conference planning process:
Specifically:
I. Delivery of China commercial partnership, marketing delivery and events delivery.
a. Legal and compliance, finance, and auditing
Cost establishing and agency brief.
Project reporting and auditing
Internal business controller and finance team communication (code and cost)
Payment and funding chasing
Cost and expense arrangement
b. Marketing
Marketing and promotion asset establishment (website, content design, promotion channels)
Global and local marketing promotion time planning and execution
Client marketing alignment
Post marketing PR
Online broadcasting infrastructure establishing (Platforms and synergy)
c. Event Day
QA collecting and bridge the audience with speakers.
Onsite tech and other support (with 3rd party)
Summarize broadcasting data and reporting.
II. Cell Symposia in China need more support from Cell Press marketing than Cell Symposia in USA/Europe due to the severe competition. The marketing specialist help needed to support China conference team in pre-conference promotion and post conference PR (content curation, budget planning, delivery, and delivery)
Cell Symposia promotion planning and execution (3-4 per year) including content creation, social planning (self and external KOLs), internal and external stakeholders’ communication (CP conference team, Elsevier conference team, external partners, and internal editors)
Branding: 25%
One Cell Press will be a key theme of 2026 brand communication, it will be implemented into every aspect of marketing daily work, we need a stable role who understand our brand essence and genuinely proud of our brand value, he/she will work as a liaison with portfolio marketing managers and conference team to better deliver the local and global campaigns.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field is preferred.
3~5 years 2B event marketing experience, corporate experience is preferred.
Proven capability of working effectively across functions, managing multi- tasks with strong coordination capability. Experience coordinating with external/internal biz partners, marketing professionals, vendors and agencies.
Fully bilingual, able to adapt to working across time zones.
Good project and process management skills.
Self-motivated, independent, result-driven and teamwork spirit, ability to handle multiple priorities.
