We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team that supports the DoD’s JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack). Must be able to collaborate effectively with multiple engineering teams while executing mission objectives with excellence.
The JRSS platform is a DOD-wide initiative to enable military services, combatant commands, and defense agencies to see more network activity, defend networks more efficiently, and share information seamlessly both within their own organizations and with DOD mission partners.
This is a fulltime remote role and requires a Secret clearance, able to obtain a Top Secret.
Primary Responsibilities.
The successful candidate must have extensive hands-on experience with network routing and switching technologies, and will be able to do the following:
Execute mission requirements with excellent communication skills to leadership and team members.
Maintain effective relationships with team members, peers, Leidos leadership, and DISA PMO.
Troubleshoot complex network situations with detailed and concise technical write-ups.
Test and validate network configuration changes prior to deployment in production environments.
Support O&M personnel with escalated trouble ticket issues.
Strict adherence to all change management requirements; including the creation, updating, or validating of process documentation.
Provide reports and other deliverables to leadership as requested.
Collaborate using information and knowledge sharing networks and professional relationships to achieve goals.
Basic Qualifications.
Have extensive experience with designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networks to include hardware (switches, routers), network management systems, network access control (NAC), quality of service (QoS), network services (timing, logging, etc.) using security best practices.
Expert in IPv4 and IPv6 implementation.
Expertise with all routing protocols, primarily BGP.
Expertise with network sniffing/troubleshooting tools.
Expertise with Network Administration, Network Security, Network Standards, Network Protocols, Network Hardware Configurations.
Ability to write and verbally communicate information security and risk-related concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must have strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and people skills.
Demonstrate poise and act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related field from an accredited university and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience and/or technology certifications may be considered.
Hold a network engineering technical certification equivalent to a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Hold a CompTIA Security+ certification.
DoD 8570 IAT2 certification is required.
U.S. citizenship and an active DoD secret and able to obtain a Top Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications.
Experience with MPLS.
Experience with HP switch equipment.
Experience with Palo Alto firewall appliances.
Experience with Palo Alto Panorama.
Experience with Cisco IOS XE and XR routers.
Experience with Juniper switch equipment.
Experience interpreting, implementing, and assessing DISA STIGs.
