Driver

Location: Dublin
Salary: €33,907.56 per annum
Shift Pattern: 5 days per week on a rotational basis between 06:30 and 22:00, Monday to Friday. Shifts rotate weekly and schedules are published monthly. Weekend shifts are also required on a rotational basis.

The Role

World Courier is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Driver to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of shipments, ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained at every stage of the transportation process.

As a key representative of the business, you will work closely with customers, consignees, and internal teams to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed accurately, compliantly, and on time. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete collections and deliveries in line with operational schedules and customer requirements.

  • Provide a professional, courteous, and helpful service to customers and consignees at all times.

  • Verify shipment details and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately, including obtaining signatures and proof of delivery.

  • Safely transport materials, products, and medical samples in accordance with route plans, temperature-control requirements, and transportation regulations.

  • Communicate delivery status, delays, and shipment exceptions promptly to support teams and Dispatch Officers.

  • Anticipate and resolve delivery or collection issues using initiative and sound judgement.

  • Support loading, unloading, packaging, boxing, and labelling activities to maintain shipment integrity.

  • Carry out airport-related duties as required, including import and export activities.

  • Monitor vehicle condition, report maintenance requirements, and ensure company vehicles are kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.

  • Assist with additional operational duties during quieter periods and support overtime requirements during busy periods.

  • Previous experience in a driving, courier, logistics, or delivery role.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail when handling documentation and shipment records.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.

  • Commitment to safe driving practices and compliance with transportation regulations.

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
