Strategic Project/Program Manager

Description -

What a Strategic Project/Program Manager does at HP:

  • Manages and leads a program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive successful program delivery and meaningful business outcomes.
  • Develops and directs development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned program.
  • Manages activities of supporting project teams and internal development partners; ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet requirements and schedule.
  • Champion continuous improvement, implementing best practices and collaborating with partners.
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to delivery stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established priorities and schedules.
  • Thrive in ambiguity and demonstrate a growth mindset to solve a wide range of complex, time-sensitive issues across partner and functional teams.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.
  • Drives best practices through documentation control policies and procedures.
  • Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.


Education & Experience Recommended:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.
