The Test Operations Department at Northrop Grumman Oceanic Systems in Annapolis, MD is seeking a dependable Test Technician to support our hydrostatic test operations team at the Deep Ocean Test Facility (DOTF). The Test Technician will interface with multiple disciplines and customer technical community members in support of executing hydrostatic pressure testing of prototype and production hardware. This position requires operation and maintenance of mechanical lab equipment, pressure chambers and facilities, as well as consistent compliance with test specifications and procedures.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Set up and operate hydrostatic pressure chambers and facilities.
- Conduct preventative and corrective hands-on maintenance of the facility infrastructure and supporting equipment.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers and fellow Technicians to develop and implement test system improvements and solutions.
- Submit written and/or oral test reports, receive work assignments, instructions and guidance.
The successful candidate will exhibit attention to detail with a strong emphasis on safety. He or she will have the ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering, and design engineering personnel. He/she should also be self-directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with hands-on type work.
Operating tests will require working off-shift hours and/or on the weekend; approximately 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, US Citizenship required
- Must be able to work overtime and 2nd or 3rd shifts when required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating and maintaining hydrostatic test chambers.
- Experience with fabrication using manual machining equipment (mill, drill press, lathe).
- Hydraulic and mechanical skills and experience.
- Current Secret or Top Secret /SCI Clearance
- Qualification and experience with common industry standard practices, such as FOD, ESD, Electrical Safety, and basic solder
- Experience operating and troubleshooting hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
Salary Range: $46,821.00 - $108,859.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
