Support the Finance Business Partner in business partnering role and provide finance operations and management reporting, ensuring compliance with the University’s policies and procedures.


Responsibilities

Finance Business Partnering

  • Provide finance guidance to internal stakeholders, including day-to-day operations, to ensure adherence and compliant to the University’s policies.

  • Key contact person for research finance matters.

Research Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Review journal reclass, invoices and claims prepared by grant preparer to ensure compliance to NTU and grantor’s guidelines.

  • Manage accounts receivables to ensure billing and collections are done in timely manner.

  • Assist with audit review and ensure adequate supporting documentation is available for review.

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports to grantor, management and principal investigators.

  • Conduct decision-support analyses to make recommendations to PIs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to address and resolve any finance related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with University’s financial policies and procedures.

Leadership

  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and encourage continuous learning and growth.

Process Improvement and Others

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in workflow e.g. procurement workflow and internal controls to drive operational efficiency.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget templates.

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of expenditure and year-end accruals.

  • Other ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent.

  • Knowledge in SAC, SAP, Concur and Ariba are advantageous.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively within and across teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels.

  • Good analytical thinking and communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Attention to detail and follow-up skills with a ‘hands-on’ personality.

  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
