Job description:
As a bank, we take pride in providing legendary services for our customers, wherever they are, in person or online. We are looking for a Senior Visual Designer with a passion to create exceptional digital products for TD Bank, to empower our customers for their online banking experience. For this role, you will be working alongside our responsive web design and mobile application team to create outstanding digital experiences. The Senior Visual designer will work with the UX team, and Visual Design Managers and are involved from concept creation to design delivery with minimum guidance. Strong knowledge of UI design and UX interactions are required as it is paramount that both visual and experience designers work together collaboratively. What will you do?
Create digital experiences that are thoughtful, compelling and meet marketing strategies and business goals
Collaborate with UX lead and designers and contribute to creating interaction solutions that advocate for the user
Provide detailed specifications to UI developers (For both Responsive Web and Mobile Application platforms)
Have a wide understanding of technical constraints and include it into your solutions but also know when to push boundaries
Connect and work alongside with other team members from UX, technical teams, product owner and marketing to deliver an experience that exceeds the user's needs and expectations
Able to pick up the established UI patterns quickly, and create new effective ones from initial design, overseeing development to delivery stages
Advocate for accessibility support in all proposed design solutions
Collaborative in contributing to internal discussions, brainstorms and ideation sessions
Actively contribute to the Design system library
Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; raise issues where appropriate
Understands the industry, competition and the factors that differentiate the organization
Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
A degree in design or a design-related discipline – visual design, graphic design, product design, etc. (or equivalent work experience)
5 years of experience designing interactive experiences (or equivalent work experience)
Comprehensive understanding of interaction and UI design
Passion for creating simple and stunning visual design solutions
Ability to translate conceptual ideas into compelling customer experiences
Meticulous attention to detail
Good fundamental understanding in Responsive Web design and Mobile Application design (Android and iOS)
Ability to ask good questions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to communicate ideas to a diverse audience and constructively integrate feedback
A conceptual thinker with proven problem-solving skills
Ability to see the "big picture" and hone-in on the details
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate well in a team environment
Proficiency with design tools with Adobe's Creative Suite
Strong portfolio that showcases your understanding of user-centred design
Fundamental understanding of design principles and branding
Proficiency with Adobe's Creative Suite as well as industry leading interface design tool such as Figma
Nice to have:
Experience working in the Financial industry is an asset
General understanding in Agile Methodologies or experience working in an agile process
Skillsets to create high fidelity prototypes, user flow diagrams, and storyboards
General understanding of HTML/CSS (able to produce web-ready assets and designs)
