We're looking for an ascending leader to be our Retail Asset Protection Manager for Mexico. We're looking for an innovator, creator, and initiator, equally familiar with the tactical and strategic areas of our work. You will have an outsized impact on the ongoing transformation of the company to becoming a world-class, DTC-first retailer. On this role, you will be a star performer and force multiplier.
You need to be a versatile, collaborative systems thinker and lifelong learner. You must build and continuously improve scalable, measurable programs. Additionally, you should proactively adapt and evolve your professional capabilities. This is necessary to add value and meet the business. You will lead retail asset protection and safety initiatives for all stores in the Mexico keeping employees and consumers safe, while maximizing profitability of the business. You will be directly responsible for all safety and physical security matters. Additionally, you will oversee investigations, training, and associated awareness. Your responsibilities will also include policy and governance. Furthermore, you will support and advise retail operations, legal, and HR teams on all asset protection matters.
About the Role
- Reporting to the Director, Global Security & Resilience. It will independently manage the day-to-day retail asset protection operations for all stores in Mexico, including loss prevention, fraud, health and safety, crisis response, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with Retail Operations, Digital, Information Security, Legal, HR, Finance, Global Audit, and other teams to ensure alignment of programs and processes and compliance with relevant policies.
- Develop plans and strategies that help achieve inventory shrink targets and the improvement of internal and external safety and loss prevention compliance metrics.
- Manage all retail investigation programs and processes at the strategic and operational level, including fraud (in store and digital), theft, organized retail crime (ORC), workplace violence, and safety investigations.
- Conduct or direct retail investigations, including interviews and analysis related to exception-based reporting, shrink, workplace violence, internal and external theft, and root causes for safety incidents.
- Analyze incident and transaction data to identify trends, margin erosion, control gaps, and root causes; develop and implement corrective action plans to address issues systematically and at scale.
- Manage all third-party vendor relationships to ensure consistent execution and results. This includes ensuring financial discipline among vendors. The vendors include outsourced LP investigators, security systems integrators, and providers of various solutions. These solutions include video management, commercial alarm, electronic article surveillance (EAS), RFID, and point-of-sale solutions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of retail asset protection analytics and performance scorecards that clearly define success and measure results.
- Drive the development of both strategic programs and tactical plans aligned with asset protection and business strategy.
- Drive innovation across all stores using a deep understanding of how asset Protection works within the organization and throughout the industry.
- Keep pace with change and maintain a competitive advantage within the marketplace by seeking out and learning about industry changes
- Negotiate effectively for the organization with all partners and build relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration
- Develop and present training and communication to operations and leadership teams, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate level for the audience.
- Participate in industry groups and networking, such as RILA and NRF, to benchmark, stay informed of trends, and positively influence the retail asset protection profession.
- Contribute their expertise to the work of our global direct to consumer (DTC) center of excellence to support scaling internal retail asset protection best practices globally.
- Support internal audit, ethics and compliance, data privacy, and information security initiatives as required.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Nationally/Internationally recognized (e.g., Reid, Wicklander-Zulawski) investigations certification.
- 8 years' experience managing all facets of retail asset protection programs, including at least 3 years' responsibility for a large (100+ locations) region.
- Expertise in conducting loss prevention and workplace violence investigations.
- Strong understanding of retail operations.
- Strategic, systems thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. An innovator who can help us build a modern, efficient, and effective retail asset protection program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in using and administering loss prevention, security, and investigative technology, including exception-based reporting applications, video analytics, and RFID.
- Experience advising leaders on trends and solutions to manage business using data-driven processes and procedures.
- Proficiency with using and administering Microsoft Office 365 and other business and data visualization applications, including PowerBI and PowerApps.
- Rapidly grow knowledge of opportunities to apply G/AI for retail asset protection.
This is a hybrid work schedule based in our Polanco Office in Mexico City. We expect you in office 3 days per week, typically Monday-Thursday. Note, time in office can vary depending on needs.
