• Review and analyze equipment logs to troubleshoot equipment/network problems or pursue productivity improvements.
• Create reports and communicate with our software development headquarters in Japan for difficult or long-duration problems.
• Communicate status on software problem analysis and/or project goals at customer sites.
• Respond and provide support to technical inquiries submitted from both internal and external parties.
• Support new software feature development by gathering requirements working closely with customer and internal stakeholders.
• Configure and manage equipment/application software simulators for internal users.
• Create equipment software parameter patches for local sites use.
• Create release note for new software functions and fixed software issues.
• Some domestic and international travel is required.
Qualifications:
• A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science -or- in Engineering with significant computer science coursework.
• Knowledge of Linux OS, SQL Server, software programming languages and/or SECS/GEMS are preferred.
• Knowledge of modern control system hardware, factory automation and the semiconductor industry is preferred.
• Good communications skills are considered critical.
• Business level of Japanese and English language skills (Read/Write/Speak) are required.
Physical Requirements:
Job duties may be performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities and customer locations may be required.
