JOB PURPOSE

The Aviation Support Manager is mainly responsible for increasing the operational efficiency of the Station. Ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues. Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and look for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out any supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization.
  • To develop short- and long-term goals and strategies in collaboration with the Head of Aviation Support and ensure implementation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and quality assurance protocols.
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
  • Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives.
  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
  • To analyze operating costs and sales reports every month from data in the monthly accounts to determine a strategy for controlling costs, reducing wastage, and improving productivity.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setting up and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution.
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce costs per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems.
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact when there is customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
  • To assist the HR Lead with Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed.
  • To assist the HR Lead to ensure that there are appropriate HR systems in place and implemented as per Company requirements.         

Additional functions to be performed as needed:

Oversee materials and inventory management.

Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.

Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment.

Track vendor pricing, rebates and service levels.

Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations

Qualifications & Skills

- 5+ years of proven experience in an operations management position and Airline, Airline Ground Operations industry preferred

- Knowledge in international business operations, labor laws, unions and collective agreements preferred.

- Possess a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity.

- Proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team.

- Strong budget development and oversight skills

- Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service.

- Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes

- Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) etc.

- Able to communicate in English orally and in writing; Spanish would be an asset but only required in Latin America countries.

The base pay range for this role is US$80,000.00 to US$95,000.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
