Thorough evaluation is critical to achieving the best, customized treatment results. Our staff uses state-of-the-art equipment to perform vascular ultrasound exams prior to treatment. These exams identify the exact location and depth of the veins, providing for a quicker, less painful experience – with better results. 


A caregiver in this position works 6:00am—8:30pm. 


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol. 

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. 

  • Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams. 

  • Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects. 

  • Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information. 

  • Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair. 

  • Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.  

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.  

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.  

  • Basic Life Support certification.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.  

  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy. 

  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
