Job Description:

An opportunity for a Combat Program Supply Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). This role is responsible for the overall Supply Chain Management within combat programs, ensuring efficient and strategic procurement and supplier relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and execute bid management activities for combat program supply contracts, including proposal preparation and negotiation strategy development.

  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain for assigned combat programs, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans, identifying and onboarding key suppliers for combat program components and services.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships through effective supplier management, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.

  • Drive negotiation processes with suppliers to secure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing agreements.

  • Oversee program and project management aspects related to supply chain activities within combat programs.

  • Facilitate transnational management and leadership, coordinating with international stakeholders and teams to optimize global supply chains.

  • Communicate effectively across internal departments and with external partners, ensuring clear understanding of supply chain requirements and progress.

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks specific to combat programs, developing contingency plans as needed.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred); alternative degrees will be considered.

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Bid Management, preferably within a defense or aerospace context.

  • Soft skills:

  • Exceptional Interpersonal and Communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Negotiation strategies and execution.

  • Ability to operate effectively within a Transnational Management & Leadership framework.

  • Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

  • Technical knowledge:

  • Strong background in Program and Project Management methodologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of Strategic procurement principles and practices.

  • Extensive experience in Supplier Management, including performance evaluation and relationship building.

  • Valuable / Nice to have: German would be an advantage.
