Job Description:

Surg Svc Environmental Support Technician

Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all areas of Surgical Services, with a strong focus on terminal cleaning of the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department. This role includes turning over rooms between surgical cases, cleaning common areas such as the front desk and peri-anesthesia, and assisting with patient handling. The position demands adherence to infection control policies and procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • At least one year experience in acute care hospital
  • At least six months recent experience working in hospital operating room preferred
