Supporting Chief Admin Office as Finance Business Partner for Shared Services and Global Sourcing and Procurement Services (GS&PS), the Finance Business Partner will be responsible and accountable for partnering with the Shared Services and Global Sourcing and Procurement Services functional leaders and setting up Budgets and driving financial outcomes to meet and exceed Budget targets.

The role is responsible for proactively managing annual GOE (General Operating Expenses) of ~$400M, evaluating, identifying and driving execution of cost reduction opportunities, supporting major transformational initiatives (e.g., AIG Next) and driving governance and controls for shared services spend and ownership of monthly billing and allocation of shared services spend across functions.

The scope of responsibilities includes supporting deal evaluation framework for GS&PS, exhaustive analysis and supporting procurement spend and shared services cost saving opportunities across AIG - from identification of opportunities, getting leadership buy-ins and supporting execution and delivery of identified benefits while maintaining a solid governance framework to drive spend and cost accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Shared Services leader to setup annual budgets and proactively manage Accenture BPO and project spend including review and approval of all new spend being within functional budgets. Drive accurate monthly billing and settlements and adherence to budgets. Drive monthly billing and operating reviews with leadership team and setting up infrastructure to provide monthly insights via BI dashboards.
  • Supporting GS&PS Services leader to setup annual budgets proactively manage General Operating Expenses and within budgets. Drive monthly operating reviews with leadership team. Support deal review and approval processes and institutionalize new processes to oversee and proactively manage 3rd party vendor spend across AIG.
  • Ensure accurate monthly billing from and payments to Accenture, standardize and streamline monthly operating reviews and provide timely insights to manage spend.
  • Analyse GOE financial results, Accenture and other 3rd party vendor spend and drive value for AIG. Help identify and drive spend management initiatives and provide financial oversight over deal model and decision support for timely and effective decision making. 
  • Provide leadership and oversight for partnering with functional teams to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for expenses and 3rd party vendor spend. Propose expense management actions to course correct, if necessary. Effectively coordinate and communicate with functional, FP&A and Controllership teams to drive expected and initiatives.
  • Build partnerships with GOE Finance Leadership teams, Business Unit’s FP&A teams, and Corporate FP&A teams to not only provide analytics and walks vs plan but also to clearly articulate the storyline and drivers to ensure there’s transparency and integrity of analysis and a common understanding of the underlying drivers.
  • Partner with Financial Data and Systems management to create a systemic change in data collection, retrieval, and analysis for expense management programs. Support implementation of new systems and tools (e.g., SAP Planning and Budgeting).
  • Manage offshore team effectively. Provide clear guidance and coaching and build checks and balances to maintain quality of deliverables while working to standardize and optimize processes.
  • Assist in preparing senior management for monthly ELT updates and operating reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ year experience - Qualified Finance and Accounting professional with a proven track record in a Finance leadership role.
  • Experience in Operational Finance business leadership roles in a Global enterprise, a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset, problem solving structuring and counselling / influencing senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated strong business and financial acumen as well as advanced change management and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated past success at creating or significantly upgrading the function and instilling a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Highly influential and able to flex leadership style according to the situation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Aptitude to multitask, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to make decisions after considering alternatives.
  • Excellent team player.

For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $161,600-$198,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
