Job Summary

Works collaboratively with departmental and organizational leadership to manage the daily operations of the department or division, ensuring the smooth delivery of healthcare services and overseeing key administrative functions, including human resources, finance, compliance, facilities, and patient services. Helps to develop and implement operational strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision and values. Leads a team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff to achieve the organization's goals.

Essential Functions
-Under the organizational and Department leadership, determines overall vision, mission, direction, goals and objectives. Directs the strategic planning process, establishes and achieves long range goals, and ensures the implementation of strategic business plans.

-Leads the management team and staff fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Oversees hiring, training, and retention, ensuring adequate staffing levels.

-Engages with senior leadership to provide financial forecasting, long-term planning, and strategic recommendations. Establishes and achieves financial goals and measures, and ensures on-going financial performance.

-Monitors spending trends and identifies opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements. Monitors and evaluates existing services and ensures the development of programs and services to respond to market.

-Develops and manages programmatic initiatives for care improvement, cost reduction and network development. Oversees patient services and care delivery, ensuring positive patient experience.

-Ensures compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards. Continually assesses and improves the efficiency of systems and processes.

-Conducts space needs planning and oversees the design of space renovations for facilities. Identifies and resolves facility problems.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required and Master's Degree Related Field of Study is preferred

Experience
Progressive experience in healthcare administration or hospital operations 5-7 years required and Previous Supervisory Experience 2-3 years required

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate effectively.
- Excellent negotiation skills for complex and sensitive agreements and contracts.

The Administrative Director in the Leadership & Mentorship Core within CADE at Mass General Brigham (MGB) plays a critical role in advancing the strategic mission of fostering leadership development and cultivating a robust mentoring culture across the academic career continuum. Reporting to the Vice President for Research Strategy and Faculty Support this position oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership and mentorship programs, collaborates with institutional leaders, and supports a culture that acknowledges mentorship as essential to academic success, professional satisfaction, and career advancement.

Working closely with CADE leadership and cross-departmental stakeholders, the Administrative Director will support efforts to create and maintain impactful programming, promote best practices in structured mentoring, and ensure the recognition and celebration of excellence in mentorship across MGB.
This role requires independence, strategic thinking, project management skills, and a strong understanding of research administration, data analytics, and academic organizational structures.
