About the Team  

As a part of Walmart’s eCommerce Product team, you’ll be the voice of our customer. Walmart was founded with the belief that the customer is #1. It’s not just a belief, but our way of doing business. The Search Product team within eCommerce is responsible for delivering the platform that helps our customers discover the right products and services that Walmart has to offer.  Search is the primary channel for customers to interact with the site and to find the things they want to buy. The team leverages sophisticated machine learning, data science and big data technologies to understand customers’ intent, provide relevant product and services through the best possible experience.  The team also provides tools to our internal stakeholders to help promote and discover new items and experiences, our associates to fulfill our customers’ needs, and provide feedback to our merchants on products, customers need.  We serve millions of queries every single day, use the most cutting-edge technologies to drive discoverability at scale and help our customers navigate our assortment seamlessly.

As the Director of Product for Search, you will lead the vision and charter to drive the vertical strategy, roadmap, and execution within the Search ecosystem. Your team will improve the searching experience customized to user journey for our millions of customers. This leader will drive a team of smart, passionate PMs working with engineering, data science and design to build the best-in-class Search platform to elevate and grow specific verticals (For example, Fashion, Electronics, Auto etc..).

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Reimagining the largest Omni Search platform with a group of talented product managers, platform engineers, data scientists and business.
  • Building a culture of end-to-end ownership, efficient operating reviews, data driven decision-making, strong partnerships, and willingness to take controlled risks to achieve results.
  • Defining product vision and strategies for Search - Vertical experience across various capabilities (e.g., intent understanding, retrieval, ranking), modalities (e.g., text, image, voice) across multiple user journeys (e.g., marketplace, category, fulfillment)
  • Developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain and grow the great product talent

The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 10 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products, Supervisory experience, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
