We are currently searching for a talented and driven individual to join our Asia Valuation Shared Services team within our MBPS Actuarial Function as an Actuarial Senior Analyst. Established in 2012, the team has become an actuarial center of excellence, with over 200 staff and growing, along with increasing range and ownership of deliverables, specializing in Valuation, Liability and Asset Modelling, Experience Analytics, Pricing, and more.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
  • At least 5 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services
  • Associate designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP), with meaningful progress towards Fellowship.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar programs
  • Demonstrated experience in applying actuarial concepts to independently model and analyze actuarial financial metrics
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, for self and others.

On the job you will:

  • Play a central role at quarter end by driving earnings and reserve movement analysis
  • Interpret IFRS17 guidance and contribute to the development of a robust DOE/RMA framework
  • Conduct valuation reviews and controls of assumptions as part of the annual and off-cycle process
  • Work closely with line actuaries in reviewing, enhancing and streamlining valuation methodology and processes while also ensuring that valuation is being performed in compliance with applicable internal guidelines and actuarial standards
  • Conduct or review actuarial methods for new business by conducting new business strain analysis
  • Conduct required capital analysis and support reporting under LICAT
  • Participate to various valuation deliverables to Group Functions and other stakeholders (e.g. Appointed Actuary’s Report, Reserve sensitivities, QIS)
