Job Description:
Limited Scope Radiographer (PRN) (Finishing school for your Radiology Technology degree)
Location: LDS Hospital
Status: PRN, As Needed
Shift: Variable
LDS Hospital is seeking a patient-focused Limited Scope Radiographer (Practical Radiologic Technologist) to join our imaging team on a PRN basis. This opportunity is designed for individuals who are currently completing their Radiologic Technology education and are in their final year of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
Verify patient identity, confirm exam orders, and appropriately prepare patients for imaging procedures.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while remaining sensitive to patient needs throughout the exam process.
Clearly explain procedures to patients and family members to promote cooperation and reduce anxiety.
Address patient questions and concerns professionally and compassionately.
Perform radiologic examinations that produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient and staff safety.
Follow established imaging protocols, utilize appropriate patient positioning techniques, and adhere to radiation safety standards and guidelines.
Recognize emergent patient situations and respond promptly and appropriately.
Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage requirements.
Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to providers and care team members following procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers.
Ensure supplies and equipment are stored appropriately and readily available.
Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities, particularly related to new procedures, technology, and equipment.

Current licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist/Limited Scope Operator in the state of practice or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Board Registry Eligible per state requirements.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
Demonstrated competency in at least one of the following areas:
Chest
Extremities
Spine
Skull
Podiatry
Bone Densitometry (DEXA)
