Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Regional Access Senior Manager to lead regional market access initiatives in Spain. This role is pivotal in ensuring patients have timely access to innovative treatments by navigating the complexities of the Spanish pricing and reimbursement (P&R) landscape. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping access strategies and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Access Strategy:
    • Design and implement regional access plans, ensuring alignment with national and corporate goals.
    • Lead the localization of value propositions and health economic models to support pricing and reimbursement negotiations.
    • Collaborate with international and local teams to ensure launch readiness and successful market entry
    • Monitor and analyze and advice on tender opportunities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company objectives.
    • Act as the company key institutional representative in front of relevant decision makers and other budget holders subnationally

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Lead building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, healthcare authorities and other relevant influencers
    • Represent the company in discussions with national and regional health authorities to influence P&R decisions
  • Policy Monitoring and Advocacy:
    • Stay informed about changes in market access policies, legislation, and healthcare system dynamics in Spain.
    • Identify risks and opportunities, and support advocacy efforts to enhance patient access to innovative therapies.
  • Performance Tracking:
    • Monitor and report on access performance, including HTA outcomes, P&R decisions, and competitive intelligence.
    • Ensure timely delivery of access projects and adherence to budgets.

Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, public health, economics, or a related field (PhD, MSc, or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: Extensive expertise in market access, tender management, or reimbursement strategies, with a proven track record of successfully navigating complex healthcare systems and delivering impactful results over several years.
  • Knowledge:
    • Proven expertise in advanced therapies and orphan drugs, including their unique market access challenges.
    • In-depth understanding of the Spanish national pricing and reimbursement (P&R) process.
    • Familiarity with health economic models, budget impact analyses, and value-based arguments is desired.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Fluency in Spanish and English.

Location

  • The position is field-based, with a preference for candidates located in Madrid or Barcelona.
  • The role requires national travel up to 60% of the time, with occasional international travel as needed.

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
1.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
