The Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer is responsible for vehicle dynamics development during the initial/concept phase of programs. The overall objective is to prove out the concept and hand off a working baseline to the program. Defining requirements for standard and supplier components is also part of the responsibilities.

It is integral to have a strong knowledge of chassis architecture and components, and strong understanding of cause and effect.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to tire specification, CoG positioning, hard point definition. Benchmarking of and comparison to competition is also an important part of this role. The work is fully virtual/theoretical as the efforts take place before any vehicle is built, hence requiring deep theoretical knowledge and understanding.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent
  • Experience in automotive engineering product development
  • Vehicle chassis experience (brakes, tires, steering, suspension, mounts)
  • Vehicle Ride and Handling - Tuning or Development Experience
  • Target Setting Experience for Ride and Handling
  • K&C Experience
  • Knowledge of Modal Alignment and NVH Fundamentals
  • Proactive and Reactive problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university
  • Simulation Experience in ADAMS or similar MBD software
  • Racing experience/background
  • Experience from cross functional interaction
  • Teamcenter experience
