Job Description

As the senior officer, responsible for a watch the SDPO acts under the guidance of project personnel to position the vessel so that project activities can be performed. The SDPO will contribute to operational planning in compliance with the company’s DP Assurance process and relevant guidance, and shall provide operational input to the development of risk assessments and other decision making tools. During operations the SDPO shall monitor the health & integrity of the DP system as required and report relevant observations or concerns to the Master and Duty Engineer/ETO as necessary. The SDPO may also be requested to provide relevant advice to project departments such as survey, drilling, ROV etc, to facilitate the planning and execution of project activities both onboard and onshore. 
The SDPO will act as 1st Watch Officer on the bridge during DP operations and is responsible for the supervision, guidance and mentoring of DPOs.
